North Dallas Fire Ants broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out
a 5 to 4 win over the pitiful Hoffman Estates Penguins and sending their
hometown fans home smiling.
The deciding run was scored by North Dallas in the bottom of the 9th. Michael
Young delivered a base-hit. Leonys Martin stepped into the batter's box and
he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Jose Reyes then singled. Dustin Pedroia came
up and he ripped a base-knock making North Dallas the winners and sending the
22,961 fans home happy. North Dallas totaled 11 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Trevor Rosenthal(9-1) who went 2/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Tom Koehler(2-10) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2
hits and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
