The Streator Reds were certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their 7 game
losing streak was finally halted and toppled the Dyersville Jurassics by a 6
to 2 score at the ballpark.
Streator drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring one runner using 2 hits. Denard Span laced a base-knock. Two outs
later Chase Headley stepped in and he doubled. Streator managed 9 hits in
their victory.
Mark Buehrle(6-10) allowed 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Kris Medlen(7-9) suffered the loss. 'After the stretch we have been
through lately, this victory is especially sweet' offered Ralph Madara. Now,
we just have to make this the norm - not the exception!'
