Hunter Pence had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Ernesto Frieri had a strong outing
at the ballpark as the hapless Hoffman Estates Penguins lost a heartbreaker
to North Dallas Fire Ants by the score of 6 to 5.
North Dallas won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Michael
Young doubled. Two outs later Willie Bloomquist came to bat and was walked
intentionally. Dustin Pedroia then banged out a single making North Dallas
the winners and sending the 20,803 fans home happy. North Dallas had 9 hits
for the night.
Trevor Rosenthal(8-1) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Tom Koehler(2-7) ended up with the loss in relief. He pitched 3 and 2/3
