Jordan Zimmermann had a strong outing as the California Luv defeated the San
Ybel Islanders in 12 innings by a score of 3 to 2 at Lawton Stadium.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. California came out on top in the 12th
inning. Rajai Davis slapped a single. Davis took his lead and swiped
second. California continued their aggressive style with another stolen
base. Jordan Walden then was wild with a pitch giving California the victory
and sending the 51,589 home-town fans home happy. California rapped out 11
hits for the night.
Latroy Hawkins(5-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Yoervis Medina(3-3) in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and no walks
in 2 innings.
