In a thrilling finish the Glen Oaks Bombers won in dramatic fashion coming
back to beat the Hoffman Estates Penguins by the count of 7 to 6.
Glen Oaks erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jacoby Ellsbury started
the attack as he doubled. Ellsbury stole third and scored when the ball
ended up in the outfield. Brandon Phillips then doubled. Cliff Pennington
came up and he stroked a single. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead
change hands 5 times.
Tyler Clippard(3-2) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Huston
Street(3-2) was given the loss in relief. 'What a win!', Clippard said.
'These are the kind of games that stand out in your mind at the end of a
season.'
