Garrett Jones had 4 hits as the Hoffman Estates Penguins bested the Tampico
Stogies in 11 innings 5 to 3 at Busch Stadium.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Hoffman
Estates pulled the game out in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded,
Martin Prado got things going when he banged out a single. Seth Smith
stepped up to the plate and he laced a single. Brett Wallace then laced a
base-hit. Jones followed next and he doubled. Hoffman Estates ended up with
13 hits for the game while Tampico had 10.
The victory went to Huston Street(3-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Street got help from Esmil Rogers who was credited with his 2nd save.
Joe Nathan(2-2) was given the loss in relief.
