Jed Lowrie blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI at Busch Stadium as the Tampico
Stogies beat the Hoffman Estates Penguins by the count of 8 to 6.
Tampico took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 5th inning when they
scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Ryan Howard who made the
crowd happy when he cracked a two-run shot. Joe Nathan earned the save with
a perfect ninth, his 20th save.
The victory went to Brandon Kintzler(3-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. The losing pitcher was Roberto Hernandez(3-4) in relief. He gave up
4 hits and no walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
