Brett Oberholtzer had an impressive outing and right fielder Carlos Beltran
had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Egham Raiders won in dramatic fashion over
the Tombstone Huckleberries by a score of 3 to 2 at Englefield Green.
Egham scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2 runs
on 2 hits. Adam Lind led off and started the rally when he smacked a single.
Chris Davis followed and he drew a walk. Beltran then doubled making Egham
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Egham managed 7 hits
in their victory.
The winning pitcher was Oberholtzer(2-1) who allowed 2 runs for the game.
Fernando Rodney(0-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
Oberholtzer and Beltran were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Bill Nichols noted, 'A win like this one
can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans,
the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
