In a good matchup it was the Tombstone Huckleberries 8, the San Ybel Islanders
5 in 10 innings at Progressive Field.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Tombstone was victorious in
the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Josh Hamilton began the
Tombstone spurt when he slapped a single. Marco Scutaro came next and he
stroked a one-base hit. Carlos Ruiz then doubled. Allen Craig followed next
and he reached on an error. One out later, Alejandro De Aza came to the
plate and was walked intentionally. San Ybel could do no damage in the
bottom of the 10th.
Hisashi Iwakuma(6-5) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Fernando Rodney earned his 39th save. Joe Kelly(2-2) was the losing pitcher
in relief.
