J.J. Hardy had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Nimrod Numnuts defeated the Yuma Desert
Rats by the score of 5 to 3 at Stigman's Mound.
It was a good day for Nimrod thanks to Hardy. He lined a single in the 2nd
inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 4th inning,
doubled in the 6th inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 8th inning.
Nimrod ended up with 13 hits for the game while Yuma had 10.
The win went to Clayton Kershaw(14-7) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings. Kershaw
was helped out by Jason Motte who recorded his 14th save. Chris Young(2-2)
suffered the loss. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 5 and
1/3 innings.
