Josh Hamilton lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as the Tombstone
Huckleberries defeated the Nimrod Numnuts 5 to 4 at The O.K.
Corral.
Hamilton made sure the Tombstone fans enjoyed themselves. He doubled bringing
home two baserunners in the 5th inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the
7th inning. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
The victory went to Jose Valverde(6-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Fernando Rodney recorded the save, his 31st. Tim Byrdak(1-1) suffered
the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings.
In another of a string of victories, Tombstone knocked extended their winning
streak to 6 games. Doug Salzwedel was in a talkative mood after the ballgame.
'Fellows, I don't know what to tell you. our guys are just playing lights
out lately. Everything and everybody is just really hitting on all
cylinders. I know it can't last forever - but that isn't going to stop us
from trying!'
