Cameron Maybin had 4 hits as the San Ybel Islanders defeated the Streator Reds
3 to 0 at Dodger Stadium.
Doug Fister(5-3) pitched a fine game. He went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 5
hits and 4 walks. Fister mowed down 7 Streator batters improving his ERA
from 2.88 to 2.66. Streator was set down quietly in the bottom of the 9th.
Craig Kimbrel got the save, his 14th. Alex Cobb(4-5) was the loser. He
pitched 6 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks. For San Ybel the
victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been struggling in their last
ten games with a disappointing 2-8 record. Streator has a record of 54-45
after the loss.
