Yovani Gallardo had a complete game and first baseman Yonder Alonso added four
ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the bat at Dodger Stadium as
the Streator Reds beat the Yuma Desert Rats 9 to 2.
Alonso provided much of the offense. He smacked a single in the 1st inning
and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the
8th inning. Streator had a total of 9 hits for the game.
The victory was credited to Gallardo(9-8) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Max Scherzer(9-7) was hit with the loss.
