Justin Morneau cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Dyersville Jurassics
topped the Chicago Colts by a score of 8 to 5 at West Side Park.
Morneau was unconscious all evening. The Chicago fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He belted
a three-run homer in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning and blasted a
two-run home run in the 7th inning. Chicago had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.
Kris Medlen(8-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 6 innings. Ryan
Vogelsong(6-8) was given the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3
innings.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Jim Aldrich said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
