In a thriller the North Dallas Fire Ants staged a dramatic comeback over the
Tampico Stogies winning by a score of 2 to 1 at the ballpark.
North Dallas had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, David Murphy began the rally when he delivered a
one-base hit. Aramis Ramirez stepped up next and he was hit by a pitch.
Joel Hanrahan then threw a high and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it
was ruled a passed ball. Alex Rios stepped in and he lashed a single
resulting in an exciting win for North Dallas and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. North Dallas managed 8 hits in their
victory.
Craig Stammen(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an
inning. Hanrahan(0-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits
and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.
Adam Arnett was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim
there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans -
they kept cheering us on. What a sweet win!'
