First baseman Adam Laroche hit a grand slam at Bloomsday Park where the
Burbank Tigers beat the Dublin Pubcrawlers by the score of 10 to 8.
The Dublin fans didn't appreciate the big day Laroche had. He emptied the
bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning, hit a single in the 3rd
inning and laced a one-base hit in the 5th inning. Dublin made it exciting
in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Jordan Zimmermann(5-2) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Ross Detwiler(4-5) was the losing pitcher. Despite losing Adam
Smith was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over this one. Sometimes
the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one of a dozen little
things go different, and we come out on top.'
