Russ Canzler had 2 base hits as the Tombstone Huckleberries bested the Egham
Raiders 3 to 1 at Englefield Green.
James Shields(5-2) delivered a fine performance for Tombstone. He went 7
innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks lowering his ERA from 3.56 to 3.11.
Egham had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Joel Peralta gained credit for his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Matt
Harrison(3-4). He allowed 3 runs and 8 hits in 9 innings.
Bill Nichols was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
