Proposal 1 shall be put into effect immediately.
Proposal 2 shall take effect for the 2013 season starting in
January. Proposals 3-5 did not pass.
Proposal 1: Change the wording of the
rules under the Trading Restrictions section from:
A manager may veto any trade
deemed not in the best interest of the league. Any questionable trade may
be overturned if ¾ of the non-involved managers feel that the trade is detrimental
or appears to be a “loan” transaction.
To either A or B below (added
text in bold):
A) A manager may veto any
trade deemed not in the best interest of the league. Any questionable
trade may be overturned if ¾ of the non-involved managers feel that the trade
is detrimental or appears to be a “loan” transaction. A league vote
may be requested for any reason deemed not in the best interest of the
league. The reason need not be one specifically prohibited by the rules.
B) A manager may veto any
trade deemed not in the best interest of the league. Any questionable
trade may be overturned if ¾ of the non-involved managers feel that the trade
is detrimental or appears to be a “loan” transaction. A league vote
may be requested only for reasons specifically outlawed by league rules.
Results: Proposal 1, A was selected by a vote of 16-3 and
takes effect immediately.
Proposal 2: Starting with the 2013 post
season, increase the number of MLB AB a position player must have from 100 to
150 to start a playoff game. Position players with 50-149 AB can be
carried on playoff rosters and come into games as replacements (pinch hit/pinch
run, defense) as allowed by the rules, but cannot start.
Results: Proposal
2 passed by a vote of 13-7 and takes effect starting in January 2013.
Proposal 3: Starting with the 2013 post
season, increase the number of MLB AB a position player must have from 100 to
200 to start a playoff game. Position players with 50-199 AB can be
carried on playoff rosters and come into games as replacements (pinch hit/pinch
run, defense) as allowed by the rules, but cannot start.
Results: Proposal 3 failed by a vote of 6-14.
Proposal 4: Starting with the 2013 post
season, an eligible position player with at least 50 ABs, but not enough to start
a playoff game, will not be allowed to enter the game for any reason (e.g. as a
pinch hitter, pinch runner, or defensive replacement) until 6 full innings are
complete or there is a pitching change (whichever occurs first).
Results: Proposal 4 failed by
a vote of 9-11.
Proposal 5: Effective with the 2014
Greater Chicago season, the league will play with no designated hitter.
Results:
Proposal 5 failed by a vote of 4-16.
