Columbus erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning as they scored 5 runs on 4 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Alex Rodriguez who electrified The Horseshoe when he hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his teammates. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning. Chris Narveson(2-7) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. The right-handed Peavy lost a no-hitter when Jonathan Herrera singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Francisco Liriano(3-5) was the loser in relief. 'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Vernon Wells noted. 'It was looking pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it really paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there at the end!'
