J.J. Hardy had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Stigman's Mound as the sizzling Nimrod
Numnuts beat the Columbus Crowd in 10 innings by the count of 5 to 4.
Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Nimrod won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Hardy started
the attack as he singled, and an error was also committed. David Ross
followed and he stroked a base-hit, and an error was also committed. Chris
Denorfia got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Matt Downs stepped in and he was walked intentionally. Mike Carp came up to
bat and ripped a base-knock. Carp took second on the throw. Nimrod rapped
out 9 hits for the night.
Scott Downs(5-3) allowed 1 run in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Kameron
Loe(6-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He was unable to retire a batter
and surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
Nimrod won for the 7th straight time. 'Everything seems to be going right for
us' said Mark Salzwedel. 'I've got the easiest job in the league right now!'
