The incredible Chicago Colts edged the Detroit Iron Gloves at West Side Park
by the score of 4 to 3.
Detroit was unable to recover after Chicago went ahead in the bottom of the
4th inning plating one baserunner. Troy Tulowitzki reached on an error.
Casper Wells stepped up to the plate and he lined a one-base hit. Brent
Lillibridge then was hit by a pitch. Wandy Rodriguez then unleashed a wild
pitch. Wilson Ramos came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases.
One out later, Mike Aviles stepped in and he grounded into a double play.
Detroit made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.
Freddy Garcia(9-5) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 6 innings.
Jonathan Papelbon was credited with his 30th save. Rodriguez(8-6) absorbed
the loss.
'It was a tough one to lose' said Mike Wilson 'We'll get them next time out.'
