In a one-sided affair the Nimrod Numnuts batters pounded the Glen Oaks Bombers
pitchers for 12 runs while Clayton Kershaw(12-7)with the aid of the bullpen
throttled Glen Oaks.
James Loney was unconscious all evening. The Glen Oaks fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He lashed
a single bringing home two baserunners in the 2nd inning, rifled a three-run
blast in the 6th inning and doubled knocking in a run in the 9th inning.
Nimrod ended up with 11 hits for the game while Glen Oaks had 8.
Edwin Jackson(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits
and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. 'I felt great out there tonight,' Loney
said, 'Maybe I should make a regular habit of getting to bed on time!'
