34,346 fans watched an exciting game at Lateralus Parabola. The Glen Oaks
Bombers topped the Tombstone Huckleberries by the slimmest of margins, 6 to
5.
Tombstone surrendered all of the runs Glen Oaks needed in the 5th inning when
they scored 6 runs on 4 hits. The big moment was provided by Jayson Werth
who electrified Lateralus Parabola when he launched a rocket-shot out of the
park for a Grand Slam homerun. Tombstone had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
Hiroki Kuroda(2-5) allowed 5 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Mariano Rivera recorded his 7th save. Ervin Santana(5-5) was tagged
with the loss. He was knocked around by Glen Oaks, allowing 7 hits and 3
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'You have to give Tombstone credit, they fought us tough to the end' Mike
Rescigno said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out
the victory.'
