Right fielder Jason Heyward lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI
and Josh Collmenter had a strong outing at Bob Marley Event Ctr as the
Burbank Tigers won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the California Luv
by the count of 6 to 5.
Burbank scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 2 runs utilizing
2 base hits. Elvis Andrus led off and got things going when he delivered a
single. After an out was recorded, Vladimir Guerrero came to the plate and
reached on an error. After another out, Heyward came to bat and cracked a
two-run shot. Bobby Abreu was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim.
Burbank and California each finished the night with 10 hits.
Collmenter(3-1) got the win allowing no runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. The loss
was charged to Kyle Farnsworth(2-1) in relief. It was a tough loss for him
as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
Greg Edens was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Wes Davies will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
