Clint Barmes hit a homerun and had 2 RBI at The Horseshoe as the Columbus
Crowd staged a comeback win over the North Dallas Fire Ants by the count of 5
to 4.
Columbus scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 hits. Barmes led off and started the attack as he hit a single.
Jose Tabata stepped up next and he drew a walk. Rickie Weeks then tripled
giving Columbus the victory as 45,114 happy fans celebrated wildly. Columbus
banged out 10 hits on the night.
Kameron Loe(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Javy
Guerra(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. Loe and Barmes were really
whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As
Frank Lopeman noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's
attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys
- it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
