J.D. Drew cleared three ducks from a very crowded pond with a grand slam at
The Horseshoe as the Columbus Crowd pulled off a dramatic comeback beating
the Burbank Tigers by the count of 9 to 5.
Columbus scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning when they
came up with 6 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Drew who
made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he launched a rocket-shot out of
the park for a Grand Slam homerun. Columbus had 14 hits overall, while
Burbank had 8.
The winning pitcher was Chris Narveson(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Brandon Lyon(1-1) was given the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of
an inning giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.
'What a game!,' Narveson said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
