NOTES:

I have listed the usual off-season schedule above, but everything of course depends on if there are any rules changes that come out of the league re-organization. The updates that are listed depend on the new league administration. This update will be my last. I am stepping down as league secretary effective tomorrow, November 15.

Please do not send me any more dues or trade fee money. The calendar above does show that dues and feed balances will be due by the start of the draft next February 11. That is there for a reminder, but please do not pay me. You will need to pay your dues to the next administration.

The one remaining task for me is to settle up the final accounts. The final balances up to the end of my reign are shown at bottom.

There are 6 teams which owe me money: BUR, CIA, COL, CRC, CSW, and TAM. Together those 6 teams have a balance due of $82.

The other 13 teams have a credit and so I will owe them money. The total of all credits come out to $434, with the final payout between CAL and NIM yet to be determined. But that means in total I have a deficit of (434 – 82) = $352 to league managers.

Note that I also owe the league as a whole $120 in dues that were already prepaid for 2012. I will transfer those funds over to the incoming administration for them to carry forward.

Rather than bother to collect the $82 that I am owed from those 6 managers, I am just going to divide that up as evenly as possible among the other 13 teams that I owe money to. So their payout will be less from me, but they will still be owed that money from the league. The league will then be owed the $82 from the 6 managers listed above, and my net balance will be zero. Got it?

The results are shown in the table at bottom. The way I worked it out then was to not refund anyone that had an $8 or less credit, and to pay $6-7 less to the teams that had more than an $8 credit. The final result is that I need to pay 8 managers: ACC, CAL, CHI, DYE, JEF, NIM, NDF, and SRD. Those 8 managers need to let me know how they wish to be paid. You have a choice between:

  • Paypal: please provide the email address for your paypal account. Since I can fund my Paypal account through my bank, there should not be any fees charged for the transaction, so Paypal is my preferred method.
  • Paper check: please provide your completely and correct mailing address
  • Electronic transfer: avoid Email me your 9-digit bank routing number and your account number and I can arrange an electronic transfer from my checking account. Keep in mind that your routing and account numbers appear on every one of your printed checks, so supplying this information to me is no less secure than you writing a personal check (and in many ways is more secure because a paper check can be washed; the only thing I can do with this information is deposit funds, nothing else). If you do not have a bank account setup on Paypal (which is necessary if you want to withdrawal money paid to you rather than keep it on Paypal for future purchases), then you might want to give this a try instead as it is very convenient for both you and me.

If anyone does not like my accounting methods, oh well, I am an engineer, not an accountant. I will gladly fine someone $5 to reduce my deficit, still.

Playoff Results: SFE 4-3 over CHI; NIM 4-0 over ACC; NIM 4-1 over DYE; CAL 4-3 over SFE; NIM @ CAL for World Series.
