WARNINGS:

There were so many infractions this month by so many people, I decided to let them go with just warnings and not fines. They are:

  • Phil (SSB) for starting Penny on 3 days rests (game 20 in Septebmer, game 3 in October).
  • Rick Wagner (LAV) for starting Thomson on 3 days rest (games 6 and 10)
  • Greg (CAL) for starting J. Kennedy on 3 days rest (games 11 and 14)

NOTE: none of the pitchers above have the * rating required to start on 3 days rest. I guess I was so busy checking usage against the chart that I forgot to check for this old problem. Next year I will definitely do something to automatically spot this.

  • Rick Graves (CSW) for late lineups. The deadline is midnight on the 24th. I do not care if I get them a minute before midnight, that is still on time, but anytime after midnight is late.
  • Rick Graves (CSW) for submitting lineups that had Baerga at 1B. Baerga did not have a 1B rating. Rather than try to shuffle the lineups, I just made Baerga a 1b-5e37. I was tempted to make him worse, but 37 was his high e number and the worst 1b in the game this year are 1b-5e25. He ended up making 1 error in 3 x-chances.
  • Adam Arnett (LEW) for running out of AB/PA in the OF. I had to use D. Cruz in LF.
  • Stan (CHI) for running out of AB/PA in the OF. I ended up using R. Gutierrez in LF.

NOTE: It amazes me that a team could completely run out of outfielders. Next time, better DH your infielders more.

  • And of course there was a final warning to George (SJN) for failing to submit lineups, which ultimately cost him his team.

NOTES:

Manager Profiles Shown are for End of Month: The manager profiles that are posted on the web are as they were at the end of the month, meaning the lineups have whatever substitutes were declared for players that ran out. A total of 90 players did run out during the month (when usage was checked after games 3, 8, 12, and 17) and a list of those players is posted separately. (Note that you may see even more players who ran out on the usage reports. Those players would have run out after game 21).

2003 Playoffs: The wildcard round of the playoffs will be SFE at CAL and CHI at COL for best of 7 series. HUC and HIP get byes in the first round. The winner of SFE/CAL will face HUC, and the winner of CHI/COL will face HIP, those winners then meet in the World Series.

New Managers: Please welcome Wes Davies (wes.davies@abnamro.com) and Jim Aldrich (jimaldr@aol.com) into the league. They will be taking over the managerial vacancies for the JOL and SJN franchises. The exact manner in which those teams are distributed has yet to be determined, but should be decided soon.

Team Name Changes due November 24. If you want to change the name of your team, please email that new name to me by

November 24.

2004 Draft Date. I have scheduled Sunday, February 15 for completion of the 2004 Draft. I think this date works out well, as it gives us about 6 weeks of drafting on-line, so we should have a lot of it done before then, and still leaves a couple of weeks for trading before the deadline for March games. Since I did not hear any protests, the date of February 15 to complete the draft is final. Time and in-persons locations TBA.

2004 Draft Order: Draft order is from best record to worst record for the non-playoff teams, followed by worst record to best record for the playoff teams.
